So I have started up a new artists group.  I use the term "group" rather loosely just now as it consists of friends who I have regular contact with on an individual basis.  Each week we meet up at a local watering hole and talk about art.  One of our numbers work as a manager at an art store so last time she brought along some new toys to try out. I started the group because I spend all my time in my studio, alone, and I miss the contact of other artists.  The trouble is that I spend that time alone because when I DO get in contact with other artists my old friends "competition" and doubt rear their ugly heads and I get artistically vapor lo

I really love where the world of digital art has gone.  When I started working as an artist in the field, back when Bush Senior was president, I was amazed by the potential of the media.  I had been working as a traditional illustrator for about 8 years by that time specializing in airbrush art, because if you used an airbrush at that time it was a sign that was hung around your neck. My pals who put paint down with HAIRS rather than AIR had pretty much labeled me as "art nerd" because of my chosen media and whereas it bothered me it didn't stopme from making comparisons between the media I came from (airbrush) to the media I was going into.
